Tensions remain high between South Wake’s suburbs after Fuquay announced its intention to take over Holly Springs. Local leaders in Garner, Knightdale, and Wendell have voiced their support for Fuquay’s land grab. Fuquay’s allies have pledged to send a fleet of squatted trucks and good ol’ boys to counter Holly Springs’s decision to recall young residents attending ECU. The squatted trucks were forced into retirement following the 2021 state law that prohibited their existence.
Officials in Garner say they’ve been looking for an excuse to publicly start some shit ever since Holly Springs got the “Good Target” some years ago. Knightdale has admitted to launching covert attacks against Holly Springs since 2019, when its fleet of beavers took out a retaining wall in the Target parking lot. Wendell officials say they are just happy someone remembered they were in Wake County.
The town of Cary says it’s currently dealing with internal financial issues and can’t spare any resources. Apparently, town officials spent all of the town’s money on personal enrichment projects. Apex says they’re too busy not giving a shit to get involved. Raleigh has also been mum on the conflict.
This story is still developing.
